Short-term Volunteer Needs:

• Teams of 3 to 6 people are needed to Prayer Walk in Yi villages and market towns for 1 - 3 weeks. Many, many teams are needed as the Yi are spread out over a broad geographic area covering 4 Provinces in Southwest China. The Prayer Walking will be physically challenging as most Yi live high in the mountains and hiking will be required to reach them. (Less strenuous Prayer Walks can be arranged as well.) In addition to being physically challenging the Prayer Walks will also be spiritually challenging. These areas have been covered in darkness for thousands of years. The enemy will attack you as you push back the darkness. If you are interested in bringing a team of Prayer Walkers from your church or group, please contact us. 



• Teams of 3 or 4 Chinese speakers and needed to come and participate in project Fire on the Mountains. Age and sex are not crucial, but good health is. College students or retirees, singles or couples, male or female - any qualified Mandarin speaker can be a part of such a team. If you would like to learn more about this exciting project or are interested in bringing a team from your church or group, please contact us.



• Teams of 4 - 10 are needed to come and conduct English camps. These camps will be designed to improve the teaching skills and conversational English of Chinese English teachers. While there, you will have opportunities to witness and share your testimony in the context of a relationship you have built. You may also have the opportunity to disciple a new believer. • Teams of 2 - 4 are needed to backpack through Yi areas to gather basic demographic and cultural data on peoples and villages as well as photograph the people. This project should be 10 days or longer in duration. The mountains are rugged so you will need to be an experienced hiker/camper. Having one team member who speaks basic Chinese is required. • An individual or couple is needed to come for 1 - 3 weeks to assist long-term personnel with the use and maintenance of personal computers. Fully functioning computers are a must in today's world - especially overseas. Workers use computers to communicate with prayer supporters and family back home by e-mail and FAX, prepare lesson plans for those teaching English, record research, print outreach materials, and much more. For those who are not computer savvy minor computer problems can be a major source of frustration. If you are interested in coming to help solve computer problems, please contact us.



• Teams of 3 - 6 people with expertise in a medical field are needed to conduct clinics in poor, rural mountainous villages where little or no medical care is the norm. These clinics will meet a basic need of the people while giving long term workers greater access to previously unreachable areas. The greatest need is for family or general practitioners and dentists though any field can be utilized. If you are interested in bringing a medical team, please contact us.



• 1 or 2 people are needed to come and photograph or video the Yi peoples in day-to-day life as well as at special events like festivals. This project could last from 1 week to several months. The photos and video produced are needed to communicate to the world who the Yi peoples are and what their needs are. One Year plus Worker Needs

• Individuals or couples are needed be a LANGUAGE STUDENT in China. You will need to commit to 2 semesters or more. You will study Mandarin Chinese while building relationships with fellow students, teachers, and those among your target people in surrounding areas. If you are interested in coming to study Chinese, please contact us.



• Individuals or couples are needed to TEACH ENGLISH . One year commitment is minimum. 2 or more years are possible. Normally schools request people to teach conversational English, English grammar or literature, business English, etc. Training in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) is required. You will teach English while building relationships with fellow teachers and students. The relationships you make and the words you speak can change lives for eternity! • An AGRICULTURIST is needed to develop and carry out agricultural projects needed to assist mountainous farmers. The projects would include an agricultural training centers aimed at equipping farmers to be church planters while teaching them new farming techniques and skills. Other projects would introduce new farming techniques and crops which would give you regular access to villages where you will do personal evangelism, direct church planting, and provide church planter and leadership training. • An individual or couple is needed to develop, set up, and run MICRO LOAN PROGRAMS. A background in small entrepreneurial businesses is a must. Micro loans are an effective way to assist the people and gaining regular access to them. Program goals would include gaining regular access to unreached peoples for evangelists and church planters and providing a regular income for church planters through the establishment of a micro-business which require only a small investment of time thus freeing them up for travel to unreached people groups. • A VETERINARIAN is needed to assist mountain farmers with problems raising goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, and other farm animals. Experience working with farm animals and farmers is necessary. Through helping farmers solve problems related to animal husbandry, you will gain regular and consistent access to them. Your activities would include personal evangelism, direct church planting, church planter training, and leadership training.
